For generations, “we” have been Democrats. My fraternal side of the family came to Texas in the late 1800’s. Unfortunately, it was not by choice. It would seem that my great-great-something-or-other was a horse thief, which was a hanging offense in Iuka, Mississippi, and he was forced to flee for his life. Ever since then, “we” have always voted a straight Democratic ticket. My ancestors would kick fire out of their graves if they knew how many times I had voted for someone who was not “in the party”. It’s OK to be an Independent voter, and I, for one, will continue to vote on the issues! Grandma has my vote.
